A Message from the President
I am humbled and honored to be named the Clinical Orthopaedic Society President. The past presidents in whose footsteps I follow are giant, whose stature I can never hope to attain. I will, however, do my best and give my time and energy to help the COS into its second century. My longterm goal is to make sure that the COS will be celebrating its 200th Anniversary in 2112.
We just had a wonderful meeting in Charleston in late September and are indebted to Drs. Andy Koman and Bob Peroutka for its success. I would like to thank each of them.
We are now well on our way to the 100th Anniversary Celebration and Meeting that will take place in Chicago at the Palmer House Hilton, September 13-15, 2012. This meeting is going to be a watershed for the Clinical Orthopaedic Society. To reach the age of one hundred is a milestone of which we each need to be proud. In order to begin to reach our potential, I ask each of us to bring at least three new colleagues to this event.
Dr. Pietro Tonino, of Loyola University, is already working to put together an excellent program which will avail itself of the immense orthopaedic talent and fine residency programs in Chicago.
At the same time, we would like to make sure to leave time to enjoy each other's company in the fine city of Chicago.
Stay tuned for more information.
Please contact me at any time, with your input, suggestions and comments.
