2007 Annual Meeting: 2007 Annual Meeting
|
96th Annual Meeting to be held in Annapolis in 2008By Ed MdDevitt, MD September is a wonderful time of the year to visit Annapolis, Maryland, the sailing capital of the United States. Located on the beautiful Severn River as it empties into the Chesapeake Bay, Annapolis traces its colonial roots to the late 17th Century. The excellent harbor allowed Annapolis to become one of early America’s busiest trading ports. Today visitors from around the world come to Annapolis to sample its colonial heritage, waterfront beauty, great shops, pubs and eating establishments, just as visitors did 300 years ago. Annapolis is home to two great institutions of higher learning, St. John’s College, the 3rd oldest college in the nation, and the United States Naval Academy. With 4,000 students representing every state, the United States Naval Academy strives to accomplish its mission to develop midshipmen “morally, mentally, and physically.” Its beautiful campus, built largely on reclaimed land, is one of the most scenic in the world. Make sure to mark your calendars for September 25-27, 2008 for a great conference in a beautiful city on the Bay. |
